Insurance customer service job descriptions, all job descriptions should begin with a general description of the employer. That's followed by a brief outline of the job then the detailed responsibilities, the qualifications, salary information and contact information. In the specific case of an insurance customer service position, candidates may or may not have to be licensed but they should have knowledge about the various insurance vehicles that the company sells. Of course, all of that can be taught. What will definitely have to be taught and should therefore be mentioned in the job description are the company's policies and procedures. Perhaps the most important qualification is what is generally referred to as people skills. Think about why you contact your insurance agent, it's always because you either have a question, a concern or there's an actual problem. Now think about how you want to be treated. The customer service representatives needs to be diplomatic, able to handle stress and must be detail oriented but most importantly they have to know how to follow through. Thank you for watching.
