Hello I'm Chef Jennifer Booker, the owner an executive chef of Your Resident Gourmet. Today I'm going to show you how to make a basil vegetable dip. Here are our ingredients. We have ricotta cheese, sour cream, shredded carrots, broccoli and cabbage, diced bell pepper and onion, minced garlic, about two cloves, fresh basil leaves and fresh lemon. So the first thing we want to do is make sure that we have our fresh lemon juice. I like to use a juicer. You could also use a citrus reamer. We'll need about one tablespoon of lemon juice and of course we do not want the seeds. Next we'll add the ricotta cheese, sour cream, our shredded vegetables and our diced bell pepper and onion. Put stir to combine. We'll add our minced garlic and fresh ground black pepper and fresh sea salt. Finally, we'll chop some fresh basil leaves and add them as well. Add your basil last so that it doesn't oxidize and turn black. Stir to combine and allow to chill at least one hour so that the flavors combine.
