Hello, my name is Janette Janero. I'm a personal trainer and group exercise instructor, and today I'm going to teach you how to get kids pumped. Parents, you may feel like your children only watch television or play video games all day long. If you want ways to encourage them to get out there and be active, go ahead and let them earn their time in front of the TV or in front of the computer. Ways you could do this is for every hour of physical activity that you have them do, give them an hour in front of the screen whether it be the television or their computer. Also, find things that your children like to do. Just because you liked playing a particular sport when you were a kid, doesn't necessarily mean they are going to like to do so. The only way that you're going to get your kids pumped is to find what's going to get them pumped. Find the activities that they are excited about. Try different things, maybe one weekend you can try water activities. Another weekend maybe you can try something at an ice rink. Give them variety, that way they can find what they are going to get motivated with. Laying a good foundation of physical activity in your child's lifetime, is going to carry out through adulthood. This is going to help them with school, with their jobs in the future and overall, just being a healthier adult. So go out there and get your kids pumped.
