Hi I'm Alex Cecilio. I'm a graphic artist and I'm going to show you how to brighten eyes in Photoshop using the burn and dodge tool. So here I have a picture of my eyes and I'm just going to quickly show you how you can make your eyes brighter. So next to your smudge tool you've got the dodge tool and the burn tool and the first thing I'm going to start with is the dodge tool and I'm going to, yeah this actually I'm going to make my brush a little bit bigger, say 16, that's good and then I'm going to zoom in and it doesn't really matter where your pupil is when you're doing this. It really what you're trying to attack is the light parts that are showing in the first place. So I'm just going to go ahead and also when you're dodging anything, you're going to want to make sure you know which range you're using, either shadows, midtones or highlights. I'm going to use highlights because we're brightening it, even though the exposure is down quite a bit, make sure your exposure is up. Alright so this is not really a good one, I'm going to use, I could use shadows, well it looks like we're going to have to use shadows. I'm going to turn my exposure up a little bit more and then you can just start sort of playing around a little bit. And what this is doing is it's staining the color, well it's sort of like, it's almost like when you put bleach on your clothes it's kind of taking away the dark color value, whoops I just started using the smudge tool. And just for a little fun, actually if you are interested in changing the color what I have to do is select a color, use a good brush, color over it, your pupil or your, yeah, you iris/pupil and then you can multiply it. You can overlay it which is more ideal and then just erase any overhanging color and there you have your brightened and colored eyes. My name is Alex and this is how you brighten eyes in Photoshop using the burn and dodge tool. Thank you.
