Hi, I'm Orene Kearn, Image and Wardrobe Consultant. I'm here at the beautiful Morning Glory Boutique in downtown Burlingame. However, today, I am talking about dress shirt styles which involve men's shirts, which is not carried at Morning Glory, but I brought the shirts in to show you the different styles. First, I want to show you a straight point collar. This is a typical, traditional style collar with a V shape at the bottom; it can be long or short. A longer pointed collar would be better for a wider face, the short for a narrower face. The collar is held in place with stays, collar stays, two or three inches. This particular shirt has the most common cuff. It has a barrel cut that has two buttons and this is a traditional fit, meaning it's a little bit wider in the trunk. This is shirt is a spread and tab collar. As you can see see, it's extremely wide; it's wonderful for people with thin faces. This takes a wider tie normally and a full Windsor knot which a lot of men these days don't know how to do it. This is actually a slim cut shirt, not a traditional cut, so you need to have a good physique to wear it. And this has a cuff that's a standard barrel cuff with two buttons. This shirt is a medium spread collar which is becoming much more popular these days, it works on most men. This particular style is a traditional cut in the body and this cuff is a French cuff shirt. Actually, this requires cuff links and this is becoming much more popular again. This is a button down collar, a traditional men's shirt. It's a little more casual at the pocket over the left breast. This is a traditional cut shirt and this is a very standard single button barrel cuff. And there you have it, dress shirt styles.
