Hi, I'm Orene Kearn, Image and Wardrobe Consultant. And I'm in the beautiful Morning Glory Boutique in downtown Burlingame, California. Today, we are talking about how to dress a brick shape. Now, I'm not wild about the term brick shape, I prefer to call it a rectangle or rectangular body type. Anyway, the characteristics are they're pretty much straight up and down. Basically your shoulders and your hips are about the same width and you have a pretty much undefined waist. So, the goal would be to simulate an hour glass shape. And one way to do that is with stronger shoulders, a hint at the waist fitted type of clothes and maybe even add something that gives a, a shape to the hip. My favorite way to dress a rectangle shape is a beautiful jacket or blazer. This is an example of just a gorgeous blazer. This jacket has a nice strong shoulders, a defined waist, a little curve for the hip and it is a beautiful color. Jackets really are an investment piece. So, you want them to be versatile. In this case, what I would do is put together this, the skirt that goes with the suit, put it with a beautiful black shawl and a necklace and there you have a gorgeous work outfit. This is just stunning for work. To get maximum versatility from your jacket, you also want to make it more casual. What I would do is dress this whole outfit down. I would take the jacket, I would put it with a more casual combination and black jeans and you're ready for the weekends, you're ready to go to a dinner at anytime. Let me show you what to do. Here I'll put black jeans underneath the jacket; I'll put this darling t-shirt underneath this jacket and it has the same color as the jacket and I would add a really cute cuff and you're set to go out for dinner in the evenings or wear it on a weekend. And there you have it, how to dress a brick shape.
