Hi, my name is Chris Henry. I'm the Founder of Today, I'm going to be making for you a delicious homemade healthy marinara sauce. What we're going to start with is a nice heavy bottom sauteed pan and we're going to create a flavor base and the flavor base is going to consist of one onion chopped, two carrots diced, two stalks of celery which will also be diced and three cloves of garlic. That's going to all be sauteed with olive oil in a nice pan and you're going to add your seasonings, salt and pepper to the vegetables. You want to season each layer of the marinara sauce. So, that's going to sautee and this is what the sautee is going to kind of look like. You're going to bring those onions down to where they're soft and translucent and you're going to add your garlic and then, you're going to go ahead and add the flavor base. And then, to the flavor base, after it's sauteed, you're going to go ahead and add your tomatoes, that's two cans of diced tomatoes. I like to use San Marzanos because they're just delicious. If you want to use fresh tomatoes, you can also do that. Your sauce is just going to have to reduce down a little bit more. So, this is going to go ahead and cook. We're going to bring this up to a boil and then, we're going to reduce it down to a simmer. And this is going to simmer for about an hour until everything is really reduced down. But, the last half hour of the cooking, you're going to go ahead and add fresh herbs. I like to add fresh basil and you want to do this with anything that cooks for more than about a half hour or so because you want to add that freshness and right at the end. And that's it, a homemade marinara sauce.
