Hi, I'm Kristen Rzasa, Owner of InterPlay Health and Host on FTNS, World's First Fitness Radio. Today, I'm here at the Jazzercise Fitness Center in Stamford, Connecticut to talk about relieving tight ab muscles. If you're really experiencing ab soreness, you might want to take a day or two off from working out and give your muscles a rest. You can apply heat by using a heating pad or heat pack and rest on the first day. On day two, if you're feeling up to it, you might want to try some gentle stretching exercises. Very simple, either stretching by rotating the torso from side to side, holding the stretch on each side for a few moments or try a full body stretch by lying on the floor or a mat and lengthening your body, arms overhead, legs extended for a full body stretch. Finally, the Yoga pose Cobra is another great way to really stretch out those abdominal muscles. You can go as deeply into this pose as it's comfortable for you and then hold it for a moment. Repeat if you need to. After that, you'll be ready to get back on track with your ab workouts. That's how you relieve tight ab muscles. I'm Kristen Rzasa here at the Jazzercise Fitness Center in Stamford, Connecticut.
