I'm chef Mareya, the Fit Foody and you're watching the video series on how to eat cleaner. So today, I'm going to show you how easy it is to cut lettuce wedges. And I know that sounds like a no-brainer, but with the right tools it really helps. You also get more shelf life out of your produce. So first I've washed this lettuce with the eat cleaner fruit and vegetable wash. And this helps to remove contaminants that you just don't want to eat. And it also helps to extend your shelf-life. We want to get the most out of our lettuce because after all, we've spent valuable green on it, right? The other thing that I love is this lettuce knife. And this is created specifically for lettuce. What it does is it cuts through and because it's plastic, it won't oxidize your lettuce, or make it turn that rust color. So I've got my lettuce here, I've cleaned it thoroughly, got a nice, clean counter top because food safety is a priority in our kitchen. Watch your fingers, and just cut down the middle of that head of lettuce. So you've got two nice even pieces. And what I like to do is, we make a lot of lettuce cups in our family. So I like to cut these so that I can use them for all kinds of different preparations. I've got the two sides, then I'm just going to cut one more side down the middle. So I've got equal pieces. And there you have it. I love that plastic knife, it's so cool. So you've got your equal pieces of lettuce, you can now use this for lettuce cups, sandwiches, salads, whatever you want to prepare your kitchen. It's that easy. I'm chef Mareya. Here's to eating cleaner every single day. Have a good one.
