Hi, my name is Tim Tracy, co-founder of and this is how to find small business health insurance. The first step you're going to want to do is find a local agent or agents that can assist you through this process. A great way to do this is to ask your other colleagues or local businesses who they use. You can also reach out to your local chamber and see if they have a recommendation for a local insurance agent that can help you out. After you have a list of a few different agents or brokers in your area, what you're going to want to do is ask them to provide you with a proposal for small group health insurance. Each agent is going to come back to you with the proposal of the different in your state. What you'll want to do is sit down and compare these proposals. Now a lot of carriers or brokers may offer the exact same thing but some may not so it's important to compare different brokers because one may show you something that another is not and that could end up being the most beneficial option for you. The other important thing to look at are what are the value added benefits that that broker or agent is offering besides just comparing the plans for you, are they also offering service benefits such as handling claim issues or billing issues? These are important things that you're going to want to ask those agents and brokers. Once you've determined the agent or broker you want to work with, then the next step is comparing the different options available to you in your state. You're going to want to determine what's affordable to you in your state. You're going to want to determine what is affordable, what falls within your budget, but what's also important is determining the benefits and what benefits are important to you and your employees. Once you've determined those benefits and you find a plan that falls within your budget, your broker agent is then going to assist you in enrolling in a small group health insurance plan. That typically can be done via paper applications and now more often today it can also be done on line electronically. This is Tim Tracy, co-founder of and this is your guide onto how to get small group health insurance.
