Hi. My name is Alex Cecilio. I'm a graphic artist, and I'm going to show you how to draw a thumbs up in Photoshop. So what I've done for you here is I've taken a picture of my thumbs up, and I'm going to show you a very basic you could redraw this. So the first thing I want to do is go to my layers panel, and if your layers aren't out, just go to 'Window' and click 'Layers' and it's right below 'Layer Comps', and you'll get your layers panel. And then what you're going to want to do is go down to your bottom right and create a new layer, and it's this little button right next to the trash can, and that creates a new layer for you. So then what I want to do, is I'm going to go to my paintbrush tool, and then I'm going to go down and select a color that isn't my outline color quite yet. So I'm going to select blue, because it's going to help me define my shape, and I'll show you how in just a second. So then, go to your layer you added, and the way to figure out how to draw something for the first time is to look at your object and try and find some basic shapes that you think might be inside of this object. So I can see definitely a rectangle or a square of some kind. Or, I guess you could even do a pentagon, and then you can do a rectangle, and even a little triangle. And then here, you've got a mix between a rectangle and an ovalAnd a little bitty triangle here. These are mostly rectangles and then ovals. And then your rectangle. And then what you can do is, once you've done this, because it's on another layer, you can simply drag it off, like that. And see, now you've got your shapes, and so with your hand next to you, add another layer. Select your other color that you're going to ink with, and then you can start to draw. This is where you can get creative, you can get realistic, it doesn't matter. However you want to draw your thumbs up. It's really up to you, but I'm going to show you... and just keeping in mind like what you're drawing, too, so if you want it to be a thumbs up, you're going to want to draw it the way it should look, which is kind of like folded fingers and not just like a knob like that. You're going to want to draw it kind of like with actual fingers. I don't like that, let's make it again. Then your pinky. and your wrist. You can even draw fingernails if you're up to it. You can erase the bottom layer. I'm going to erase the fingernails, but that's your basic shape, and you can go back in and erase and fix what you think doesn't look right. But in the end, you'll have your basic thumbs up shape. My name is Alex Cecilio, and this is how you draw thumbs up in Photoshop. Thank you.
