Hi, I'm Holly Mosier and I'm the author of "Stress Less, Weigh Less," and today I'm going to show you how to make an easy healthy breakfast combining protein and carbohydrates. We're going to use a recipe from my book and it's called Holly's Sunrise Sandwich. Wait until you see how easy this is. All you need is a bagel and some eggs. Now I like to use one of those lower calorie bagels that you can find at any grocery store and I particularly like this one because it's so grainy. Half is only 50 calories so you're going ot take this and just place it in the toaster. Now as that toasts, we're going to poach our eggs. This is an egg poacher. Now they can be tricky because you don't want your eggs to explode which sometimes happens but I found what helps is if you spray the cups with cooking spray first, sometimes it helps those eggs to cook evenly. So we're going to put an egg in each side, there we go. Now close it up. You want to make sure that it's closed so it doesn't open int he microwave. Now I'm going to put this in this microwave for about a minute but test yours because every microwave cooks at different lengths. So let's start with a minute and see what happens. Now as these are cooking, I'm just going to get my plate ready because our breakfast is almost done. I want to give you a few tips. The reason I like to use whole eggs as opposed to just the egg whites, is the whole egg brings in the right blend of protein, carbs and fats and what that helps to do is to keep you satiated. Alright our toast is done so we'll take that out and let's check and see how we did with these eggs. The good news is the poacher stayed closed, that usually means they turned out fine. They turned out perfectly if you can see. So it only took about a minute to poach these. So I'm just going to take a spoon now and scoop them out and put them on top of the bagel. And there you have it. Now you can either end this by sprinkling with salt and pepper. I like fresh ground pepper because there is some antioxidants in it. And lastly, as an option, I add some apple cider vinegar. Believe it or not this tastes so good. So just sprinkle a little bit over the top and that's perfect. And there you have it, a healthy breakfast combining protein and carbohydrates.
