Hi, my name is Marija, I'm a mathematician and today, I'm going to give you a frequency table definition for kids. So, I would say to kids, that a frequency table is a way to organize data to show how frequently certain events occur. And if you're dealing with kids, you want to grasp their attention by doing something that involves their interest. So, I would first, have them take a survey, depending on the age group, make an appropriate survey. If they're young kids you could do, what's your favorite pet? So, let's say, their choices are, cat, dog, bird and fish. So, first you have the kids collecting the data. So, that's already a mathematical skill, knowing how to collect data and then, we're going to organize it. So, show them that they're going to tally mark, how many of their fellow classmates liked each of the following animals as their favorite pets. And they'll just start doing their tallies. And then, when they're done, they're going to go ahead and put their total in their final column. So, as long as the first category is something they're interested in, it''ll be very easy to teach frequency tables. Because the tally marks are simply, they're notching every time a classmate says that, that's their favorite. And then, the total is just them counting up all the tally marks, so on ans so forth. So, frequency table for kids, just tell them that is a way to very quickly see, which of them occurs most frequently. My name is Marija, and I just showed you how to do a frequency table for kids.
