Hi, I'm Jimmy Chang, and we're here to talk about how to use fractions to determine statistics. Now there's going to be plenty of instances where the fractions will determine statistics based on the formulas that are used in stats. So here's a couple of illustrations to help you out. Now one of the most common formulas is the margin of error. Now the formula for that is one over the square root of N where N refers to the sample size. Now the formula in and of itself is a fraction so that's going to be a very important part in statistics and surveys. Another formula is that of the Z score formula where it's written as Z is equal to X, which is the data point minus the mean, mu over sigma which is standard deviation. So the formula in and of itself is a fraction so there's going to be plenty of instances where fractions by themselves are going to be used to determine statistics. So there's many other ones out there but the bottom line is fractions are going to be a very important part because they're going to help to determine statistics by themselves.
