Hi there. This is Ryan Malloy here at the Worldwide Center of Mathematics. In this video, we're going to discuss what is a fraction as a division statement. Let's suppose that we have some fraction, we'll say 3/5. How can we rewrite this as a division statement? Well, that's the same thing as writing 3 divided by 5. Alternatively, if you want to use long division notation and say, how many times does 5 go into 3. These are all equivalent. Well generally, if we have some fraction with a numerator and the denominator, which we'll call N and D, we can rewrite this N divided by D or D going into N. And that's all there is to it. My name is Ryan Malloy, and we've just discussed how to write a fraction as a division statement.
