Hi, I'm Monica D. Higgins with dontremodelwithoutus.com and I'm here at the Tremont Luxury Condominiums in Los Angeles, California, to share ceramic tile decorating ideas. Now before you actually select your tile you need to select a color pallet. And that's a collection of colors that go together. So here's for example three colors that create a pallet. Now if you're not quite sure what colors go together, I understand, some of us are color challenged, have no fear, there are some great resources on line. Those resources are, in essence, color pallet generators. All you need to do is pick one color and they'll let you know what other colors go with that color. But now lets take a look at some actual tiles that you can use for your design. Ceramic tiles have changed a lot. These are not your mother's ceramic tiles. There are a lot more colors and designs than before. This is great because it's a random design put in a pattern but it has rounded edges. For those of us that really care about the environment, there are lots of green ceramic tiles. These are great because it's made from recycled ceramic. If you're wanting something more bling bling you've got the bejeweled ceramic tiles. And for those of you that prefer a clean modern look, have no fear, you've got some clean, modern aesthetics right here. So just like you found a color pallet on line you can also find a tile design on line. There are plenty of places to find one. Here are just a few examples. So for example if you want something simple, clean, and modern, a subway tile design in perfect for that. If you're looking for something a little bit more traditional but still interesting, an octagon with dots may be the way to go. Or, for larger tile you might want to choose something like a Versailles pattern that uses different shapes and sizes of tile to create an interesting design. No matter what tile design you use you want to make sure before you install it, install it without the grout so that you can play with it and live with it for a few days.
