Hi, I'm Monica D. Higgins with Dontremodelwithoutus.com and I'm here today at the Tremont Luxury Condominiums in Los Angeles, California. We're going to share some ideas on inexpensive linoleum and floor tile design ideas. Now there are plenty of floor tiles and tile patterns to choose from so you want to make sure that you choose one that goes with your decor and your style. Here are some examples of floor tiles that you can choose from. Now for these floor tile examples, these two are really wonderful because if you put your hand on them they have a textured feel. So they're really wonderful for wet areas like a bathroom floor or a shower. Now if you're looking for something with less texture and a smooth finish, you mind try a basalt home tile. If you prefer a shiny effect, apply an enhancer to the tile. I'm using a cloth with water but in effect, that's the effect that the enhancer applied on the tile will give you. It will give you a more shiny appearance. Now if your style is more of a Spanish or Mediterranean feel, these Malibu tiles are really great because they're colorful, they bring up the Mediterranean feel and you can actually go on line and custom select your colors so you get exactly what you want. Now you can actually find examples of tile patterns on line. For example, I'm going to show you subway tile pattern, an octagon with dot tile pattern and the Versailles pattern. Now in order to keep the cost low, what you want to do is keep the design simple because the more complex the design, the more time it takes to install, hence the more expensive it's going to be to install it. Now when it comes to linoleum floor tiles, you're not going to have as many options because they typically come in a square shape. But don't worry, you don't have to put them in a regular grid pattern which is kind of boring. You can mix it up a little bit by actually installing them on a diagonal. I'm Monica D.
