Hi, I'm Lori Gilder of Interior Makeovers and Lorigilder.com, and I'm here today in Malibu to talk to you about how to decorate a tiny beach apartment. Now you can have all the inspiration in the world with the beach at your disposal but what you do what to do is create a simple, clean, crisp and breezy apartment rather than over clutter it with sand, shells, paddles, all the beach decor that you feel you might want to have. So in a small tiny environment, keep the clutter to a minimum. Use slipcovers and change them out during the course of the seasons, utilize glass lamps that create some sparkle, some mirror that reflect the surfaces of the sea beyond or the light that's blazing into your living room. But the biggest tip I have is don't overdo the greens, the blues, the sea foams, all of the major colors that you instinctively want to incorporate into your beach theme because you will feel like you are drowning in it. So keep it simple, keep it clean, keep it breezy, add some sheer window coverings to your patio doors and let them billow in the breeze. Make sure things are light, crisp and clean. I've said it before but you'll be so happy you did. So again, I'm Lori Gilder chatting with you about decorating your tiny beach apartment and if you have any questions go to Lorigilder.com or please check out my blog, Diary of a Renovation, and I look forward to seeing you there.
