Hi I'm Chase Thompson-Baugh with Simply Mac, your local source for everything Apple. We're a Utah based Apple specialist with eight stores in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming and today we're going to show you some more quick tips on the iPad that I know you're just going to love. Now I'm going to show you how you can lock the rotation on your iPad. So here on the iPad we have the ability of rotating it so if I have a portrait application or a portrait need that's very easy to do. We just go ahead and rotate that but occasionally I may have my iPad on my lap or maybe I'm on the go and it keeps rotating and I don't want it to do that anymore. What I can do is I can either double tap my home button or just lift up with four fingers, slide over to the right and there's this little lock icon. It doesn't look like it right now but as soon as I tap it, I get a lock. So now if I were to rotate my iPad, nothing happens. It stays in the orientation that I had before. Now, I can unlock that just as easy just by coming here and tapping on that. Now you can also change this little switch up here which is normally used for mute, you can change that to be a lock switch and then the mute switch will become this little icon down here. Where you go for that is settings here on general, we come down here and tell it to use the side switch to lock rotation. Now if I switch that, we see the rotation lock and again I cannot rotate the screen. Now, if I come down here we see that that is a mute switch instead. I'm going to go ahead and switch that back. I like it the way that it was but that's how you do it. Again I'm Chase Thompson-Baugh with Simply Mac and I've just shown you how you can lock the rotation on your iPad.
