Hi, I'm Alan Hilsabeck Jr., registered interior designer and certified master kitchen and bath designer of Hilsabeck Design Associates. I am here today in a beautiful bathroom we designed in South Lake, Texas. I'm going to be sharing with you just how to keep your remodeling costs down when doing a bath remodel like this. In the past, a kitchen remodel was the most expensive type of remodeling project. However, today, bathroom projects, such as this one, are becoming just as expensive. There are several things that one can do, whether doing it yourself, or hiring the professionals, to keep the overall costs down. First you want to establish a plan of action. What this will include is having your design of the bathroom on paper first. This will allow you to make any changes on paper verses in the field, which will ultimately save you both time and money. Next, order, deliver and store all of your products and materials on-site before the project begins. This way you can not only inspect everything for correct quantities, but also insure there is no damage or missing parts. If there is, this allows you time to correct the matter before you begin, verses holding up construction and costing you both time and money And last, have your bathroom project utilize current structural, plumbing and electrical items if at all possible. This does not mean that your new bathroom has to be identical to your old bathroom, it just means that by using the existing locations, will help keep your costs down. For example, in this project we utilized the location of where the existing tub and tub drain used to be and designed the shower and shower drain in close proximity. Using these three easy tips will not only save you time and frustration during your remodeling project, but will also help keep the costs down on your bath remodel. So until next time, this is Alan Hilsabeck Jr., of Hilsabeck Design Associates, coming to you from South Lake Texas. Have a great day.
