Hi, I'm Alan Hilsabeck, Jr., Registered Interior Designer and Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer of Hilsabeck Design Associates in Dallas, Texas. Today, I'm at the Sub-Zero Wolf Showroom just outside of Dallas. I'm going to show you how to adjust a burner on a gas range. On many of today's ranges, you can find the adjustment for the height of the flame behind the knobs on the range. On this model, you can adjust the height of the flame by simply adjusting the air shutter. Simply loosen the screw and with your fingers, slide the air shutter forward and back until you have the right height of flame. Now, as you can see on this model, there are two rings. The first ring is for propane, the second ring is for natural gas. To complete the step, simply use your wrench and tighten down the knot. Any other adjustment beyond that needs to be done by a certified appliance installer. The reason somebody would want to adjust the height of the flame on their gas burner is so that way the flame of the burner, for instance on larger pans, can cover the complete bottom of the pan, evenly distributing the heat. After you have your flame the right height, make sure everything is nice and snag, then put your rings back together. So, until next time, this is Alan Hilsabeck, Jr., your Design Professional from the Sub-Zero Wolf Showroom here in Dallas, Texas. Have a great day!
