Hi, I'm Devra Gartenstein with "Quirky Gourmet." Today, I'm going to show you how to make a cucumber wasabi salad. Now cucumber is light and crunchy and it will take on the flavor of anything you want to dress it with. Wasabi is a Japanese horseradish. You use it a lot in, as a condiment for Sushi. It comes in a powder like this and a little bit goes a long way, just mix that up with some warm water and they say you know, on the package instructions it always says to let it sit for 10 minutes, and what I've found is just the aroma of it is really intense right after you mix it up and so if you breathe, it's going to burn your nostrils. So just don't breathe too close to it. I'm going to mix in some soy sauce and some rice vinegar and that's the dressing for the cucumber salad. Then I'm going to just add some chopped cucumber and a little bit of red onion, there it's getting to me, a little bit of black sesame seeds for color and for just a different kind of crunchiness and there you have cucumber wasabi salad.
