Hi, Darin MacDonald for "Total Trainer," and today I'm going to show you how to make a delicious strawberry protein shake. Now, who doesn't love strawberries? They not only taste great, but they're full of Vitamin C, antioxidants and some recent studies show that they may help regulate blood sugar levels. So what we're going to show you here today is important to know that your strawberries or any fruit that you use for protein shakes and smoothies, you want to try and freeze them the night before. This helps the protein shakes to be more thick and also less watery. So our first shake is the basic strawberry protein shake. Now we're going to take about a half of a cup of milk, and in this case we're using coconut milk, low fat coconut milk, but you could actually use regular milk, cow's milk or goat milk. We're going to mix in a scoop or two of vanilla protein powder or a berry protein powder, about a half a cup of water and eight frozen strawberries. Mix that with a little bit of Splenda or Stevia to sweeten it to your taste. Now once we're done with all that, all we simply do, throw it on the blender, mix it up and when you're done, simply unscrew the top, pour it in your favorite glass and there you have it, your simple strawberry protein shake. And now for something extra special, I'm going to show you how to make a strawberry protein shake that's a strawberry cheesecake protein shake. So to do that, we're going to take our mixer here and we're going to pour about one cup of water. We're going to mix that with a scoop of protein powder and about one cup of low fat Ricotta cheese, as you can see here, that gives us our cheesecake feeling and of course, we're going to finish that off by adding several strawberries into the mixture and then close up our container and then we're going to mix. And when you're done, simply remove your container and you have a delicious strawberry cheesecake protein shake. Now remember, you can always add a little Stevia or Splenda to your shakes in order to make them a little bit sweeter. And that's how you make a strawberry protein shake. I'm Darin MacDonald for "Total Trainer" saying, remember, be good to your metabolism and it will be good to you.
