Hi, my name is Chris Bos, freelance construction consultant. What we are going to talk about today is how to back out a screw when it's stripped and the head is just useless. When you can't get into it. There are several options for this. The first option and the simplest that I like to is you take your Phillips bit out of your screw gun. Put it into the hole, give it a couple of good hits. So that should help you recreate the you know the slots of your screw. Once you've done that put it back in your screw gun and back it out. The other option if that doesn't work you can take a dremel and what you are going to do is put a straight line with a cutting disc right in the middle of the screw. Then you can take your screwdriver, your flat head screwdriver and you'll be able to put it right in that new slot that you made and back that screw right out. The third option is using a screw extractor. For that you are going to have to drill a tiny hole in the middle. That depends on the screw extractor you are using. Then you would use the screw extractor in your screw gun to just back it out. Thanks for watching, my name is Chris Bos.
