Hi, I'm Chris Bos, freelance construction consultant. What we are going to do today is how to put a molly bolt in without it spinning. So what I've done here is set up a piece of sheetrock so that we can see behind the wall. What's going on that we don't usually see. First thing you are going to do is you are going to drill a hole. You are going to drill a hole big enough for this butterfly, or molly, or toggle bolt to fit in right through that hole. So in this case it's about a half an inch hole. I've got my half inch bit. Once I make the hole I'm going to squeeze the butterfly together and press it through the sheetrock. Once it goes through it opens up. Now this is what's happening in the wall. If you try to spin this bolt you'll notice that the butterfly part is just spinning. That's what we want to prevent. So what you are going to do is pull the bolt to you tight against the wall. Don't worry you are not going to pull the sheetrock off the wall. Once you pull it then you are going to spin it and it will go right in. As you notice on the back side it's not turning. I'm Chris Bos good luck and thanks for viewing.
