Hi, I'm Charlie Kasov. I'm a math teacher and today we're going to answer the question, how fast is twelve knots in miles per hour? Now first, a knot is also known as a nautical mile. It's a way of measuring distance on the ocean. And one knot equals one point one five 0 seven seven nine four five miles, but we kind of want to shorten that. So, we'll say one knot equals one point one five one miles. And this is about as precise as you need to be for most applications. So, if one knot equals one point one five one miles, then twelve knots equals thirteen point eight one two miles. Now, an important thing to keep in mind is, a knot is a measure of distance. You would have to say knots per hour if you wanted to say miles per hour. So, if we were going twelve knots per hour, that means were going thirteen point eight one two miles per hour. But as it stands, a knot is a mile, not a mile per hour. So, I'm Charlie Kasov, and you just learned how many miles per hour are twelve knots. Thanks a lot.
