Hi. I'm Beth. I'm a math teacher, and I'm going to show you what a fraction number sentence looks like. First, let's talk about what a number sentence looks like. A number sentence is typically an equation or an equality using symbols and numbers. It's actually incredibly simple. So, let's see, let's go with 2 plus 8 equals 10. Number sentence! Fantastic. We could also say something like 3 plus 8 is greater than 10. Also a number sentence. Now if we wanted to make that into a fraction number sentence, we would simply use fractions. So, we would say something like two sixths plus eight sixths equals ten sixths. Can we use fractions and an equality? Oh yes we can! So we might also say three sixths plus eight sixths is greater than ten sixths. Sixths if very hard to say, but nonetheless, that's a fraction number sentence. I'm Beth. Have fun fractioning.
