Hi this is Lori Wyman with Lori Wyman Casting and today we're going to talk about typical settings for an actor's headshot. Well what is a typical setting? Well there is no such thing as a typical setting. You can do a headshot in a studio. You can do a headshot outdoors. I'm going to show you an example. This is an actor whom I work with an awful lot. His name is Mark Macaulay. This particular headshot is his serious acting headshot. This is an outdoor headshot but the photographer whose name is Bob Lasky, muted the background. Now you see how he pops out of the background. You want to make sure you don't have an all black background with a black jacket with black hair. That's one thing you don't want. This is Bob Lasky's one sheet and this is an example of all different kinds of headshots. What is popular now which wasn't popular years ago is it doesn't necessarily have to be just a headshot. It can be what they call a three quarter shot. As you can see by many of these, these people are from here up which is a three quarter shot.
