Part of the Video Series: Measurement Conversions

Hi I'm Charlie Kasov, I'm a math teacher. And today we're going to learn how many milligrams are in one gram for conversion. So first 1000 milligrams equals 1 gram. Now to remember that remember that the prefix m before the g is milli which is 1/1000. So we say 1 gram well that's the base measurement and 1 milligram is 1/1000 of a gram. Thus there's a thousand milligrams in a gram. Now if we want to use that we can say 2,642 milligrams, and we want to convert that to grams, well we have 2000 milligrams so that's 2 and then we have 642 so that's 2.642 grams. Or if we said 750 milligrams, well that's .75 grams because there's not a full thousand milligrams. So I'm Charlie Kasov and you just learned how to convert milligrams into grams for conversion. Thanks a lot.
