Hi my name is Brian. I'm a web and graphic specialist and today I am going to show you how to make a picture your home link on Tumblr. So I have my Tumblr blog open right here and as you can see in the top left hand corner, I have my home link but it's just text and I'm going to want to upload an image and then set that as this home link in my custom HTML. So in order to upload an image that's going to be used for your theme, you're going to have to upload it using Tumblr Static Uploader. This is a URL you're going to have to go to that's Tumblr.com/themes/upload_static_file and you can see that right up here and this is where you can upload any photos that you're going to be using for your theme specifically or your layout. Remember your maximum size for an upload is 5 megabites and you can only upload 15 megabites per day. So I'm going to browse and I'm going to pick a photo right there, then I'm going to click upload file. Alright now it's going to offer you a URL to that specific image and you're going to have to make sure and copy that. If you don't copy that, you're not going to be able to find it later so make sure you copy it and then go into your customizing text on your Tumblr blog, so I'm going back to my blog and in the top right hand corner there's two buttons, one is customize, click on that and then click on edit HTML in the column on the left and then scroll down and you're going to want to find this home ink in your HTML. So let's just scroll down a little bit, okay and there's my home link right there. I'm going to change this text into an image by entering open bracket, img, space, src equals, open quote and then paste that list that you just got from your static uploader and then make sure you have the close link and then make sure you close that tag by doing a forward slash and then hit update preview and there you go.
