Hi, my name's Omari Mack. I'm a math tutor, and today we'll talk about how to multiply to get the area of a parallelogram. Now, a parallelogram is a four-sided shape in which the opposite sides are both equal and parallel. So, there are three parts. Let's say side one. This is also side one. Let's say we have a base one. This is also a base one. And the third part is the height, which we could take from the corner of base one, down to base two. Now, the area formula for a parallelogram is "area equals base times height". So, let's say that we could take either base, since they're equal. So, let's say base one was 3 and the height was 4. The area would be 3 times 4 which is 12 square units. And that's how we multiply to get the area of a parallelogram. Thanks for watching.
