Hi. I'm Jimmy Chang and we're here to talk about the difference between a scalene and an obtuse. Now, they're both angles. Oftentimes in a triangle, but they can be talked by themselves. Now, with scalene. Scalene angles, by definition, are angles that are less than ninety degrees. Now, basically we're talking about angles that are less than right angles, so basically angles such as this or that. They're considered scalene angles because they're less than ninety degrees. Now, an obtuse angle works the other way. Obtuse angles are larger than ninety degrees, but they are less than one hundred and eighty degrees. Now a hundred and eighty degrees is that of a straight line. So an obtuse angle is any angle that's greater than ninety, but less than one eighty. Now typically, obtuse angles are angles that tend to kind of stretch outwards a little bit like, this is considered an obtuse angle and that's considered an obtuse angle so they tend to stretch out a little bit further whereas the scalene angles tend to grow inwards. So, I'm Jimmy Chang and those are the differences between a scalene and an obtuse angle.
