Hi, I'm Tony Steuer, The Life Insurance Sage, and this is my tip on life insurance and smoking. Life insurance companies for very understandable reasons, charge significantly higher premiums, often times double or triple or smokers. Some companies will charge even more as they feel that insuring somebody who is a smoker is really not a good risk for them. Insurance companies are all about making a profit and when they take a look at the health risks associated with smoking, they'll often times charge a higher premium. If you are a smoker, it means that you have to look around that much more to find a company that will provide reasonable life insurance for you. For smokers rates on life insurance will really vary from company to company. It will also vary on what type of tobacco you use. If you smoke the occasional cigar, that can be treated very differently than somebody who smokes four packs of cigarettes a day and pipe smokers, using chewing tobacco, any of those things will be treated differently by different companies. So if you are a smoker, it really pays to have somebody who knows what they're doing to help you interpret the different term life insurance companies because there will be a wide variance in the marketplace in how much you will pay. I'm Tony Steuer, The Life Insurance Sage, and that was my tip on life insurance and smoking. Thank you for watching.
