Hi, I'm Tina Gill with Worthwhile Style and today I'm going to give you a few tips on how to wear a gown if you're a plus size woman. When you hear the word gown, I automatically think that it's a dress that goes all the way to the floor. Normally it is but for the plus size woman what I would recommend is bringing that hemline up a little bit to your knee, a little bit below your knee or a tea length dress would be okay as well. This one has a great detail here at the bottom. It's got a line of asymmetry which is really cool and it has a little flare and something a little bit different for a gown. Something else I love about this is that it has this wider strap up top here. A lot of plus size women have a larger chest so they need to wear a bra that's going to be most supportive. With this wide band here you can wear your normal everyday bra and still feel supported in a great gown. Another great option about this dress too is that it has this little seaming up here at the top. So what it's going to do, it's going to fit you right here at your body and it's going to float away from the rest of your body and it's perfect for a lot of different body shapes. Many of the people that I work with that are plus size, they don't love it when their arms show with a gown. And it's kind of hard to find dresses out there that have sleeves. So a great alternative is adding a little satin bolero and I love this, this is silk, actually and it's fabulous. The color is great. It adds a nice drama here to the neckline but still keeps it very open here to add a great piece of jewelry. Plus, the sleeve has a little poof up here so it's going to give you a little volume and add a little height up here. Most people would recommend going with a little black dress and that's great, I think every woman should own a little black dress in their wardrobe but I opted to go with something like this. It's more of a Fall color, this aubergine is gorgeous and it pairs so nicely with this little army green coverlet here. So as you can see when you're shopping for a gown, what you want to look for is the ability to wear your normal everyday bra, something that fits you up here at your bodice and a great V neck and the A line skirt is going to float away from your body and it's going to be fabulous for any body shape. I'm Tina Gill with Worthwhile Style. Thanks for watching.
