I'm Mike Eyia and I'm a Freelance Saxophonist in Los Angeles. Today, we're going to talk about how to do octaves in the saxophone. I have here a tenor saxophone. If you see here, this is called the octave key. Doing saxo, doing octaves on a saxophone is actually pretty simple; it's just a matter of pressing the octave key. So, for example, if you want to finger a G, which is this, with this one, two, three fingers down, you can hit the octave key which you see here in the back. It'll go from a low G to a high G. So, I'll demonstrate that right now. Here's the low G. Now, I'm going to press the octave key and you have a high G. So, you can do that with a, a B, E, A, G, F, E, D, all; all the notes in the sax, just press the octave key and you get your octave. And, and that is how you do octaves on the saxophone. My name is Mike Eyia.
