Hi, my name is Brooke Miller, Psychotherapist and founder of Soapbox Therapy. And I'm here to answer the question, how does music affect our emotion? The very first sound we hear is the beating of our mother's heart. So from a very early age music is extremely important to our emotions. Most of us don't have the words exactly to express what we are feeling all the time and music can always do the trick. Some musical rhythms like really fast beats can remind us of panic or it can remind us of excitement, a great situation in our lives. And sometimes really slow rhythms or slow musical songs can remind us of feeling really calm or it can remind others of feeling sad. Either way music has an amazing way of pulling emotion out from inside of us and releasing it into the world. So no matter your favorite beat, tempo, or type of music, music is great for your emotional health. My name is Brooke Miller from Soapbox Therapy and that's how music affects your emotion.
