Hi, I'm Karl Romain of Edgewater Kung Fu, and SifuRomain.com. I'll be introducing you to Merissa Pico, who'll be teaching you TaeKwon-Do fighting techniques. Hi, my name is Merissa Pico. I'm a four-time U.S. National Team Member, and a 2012 Olympic hopeful. In this video, I'll be showing you two commonly used TaeKwon-Do sparring techniques: The Round Kick, and the Axe Kick. The Round Kick is probably the most common sparring technique there is in TaeKwon-Do sparring. So, you're going to lift your knee up to your chest almost, straight in front of you, and pivot on the foot you're standing on, and turn your leg. And then, you're going to kick out, and re-fold your leg, and put it down. So. And, this kick can go to the body or the head. Now, Master Romain is going to help me demonstrate the kick on the target. Okay, the next technique is the Axe Kick. It's like a stretching kick, and it goes to the head. So, you're going to pick your knee up as high as you can into your chest, extend your leg, and drop down. Okay, now, Master Romain will help me demonstrate the kick. Those are two common techniques that are used in TaeKwon-Do sparring. My name is Merissa Peco. I train at Team USA TaeKwon-Do Fitness in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Thank you for joining me.
