Hello, my name is Steffen Root, co-owner of Berkshire Bike and Board here in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Today we're going to talk about how to install BMX brakes. The first thing we need to do is to install the caliper which you can see already here. So we have the two caliper arms which get slid on to the brake bosses here, tightened on with a 5 millimeter Allen Key and then we have this 14 millimeter slotted tension bolt that we hold in place and tension down the brake so therefore, we have even braking force. The next step is to install the brake lever, run the cable to our connection point, run our straddle cable up and around. First we anchor our anchor bolt on our brake cable here then we run our straddle cable up and around the seat post anchoring our straddle cable here to the caliper arm. That is how to install a BMX brake on a BMX bike. My name is Steffen Root, co-owner of Berkshire Bike and Board in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.
