Hi, I'm Jeremy Manning, Director of Personal Training at Elevation Fitness and the founder of Uplift Project. Today we'll be covering the dos and don'ts of walking. So one of the most important things to think about are your shoes. You want to make sure they're in good condition, nice flat sole, no wearing of the heel or the ball of the foot and make sure they're comfortable and sized properly. Another important thing to remember is when you're walking remember to look at the horizon or directly ahead. Don't look down. Your brain actually works as a gyroscope which most people don't know and keeping your head up as you walk maintains your balance, proper posture and good form overall.
