Hi. This is Willy McNeely from STRONG Gym. And this is how to put on an abdominal support brace. Now, what an abdominal support brace actually does is it help you engage your abdominals more, by pushing against the brace or the belt. That way you can create more inter-abdominal pressure to protect your spine. I'll go and show you and demonstrate how to put one of these on properly. Now, this is a typical abdominal support brace made out of neoprene-like material that uses Velcro to strap it in. The proper way to put it on is you want to put it on your body, stretch out slightly and then just cover it and with the Velcro you'll attach the end right there and voila. Another type of support brace that can be used for lifting and other activities, is what's know as a weight lifting belt. Now this is heavy duty and made out of leather. The one I have here is two prongs and it's thirteen millimeters thick. The way to put this on is kind of the same way. You want to wrap it around your abdominal, just around your bellybutton. You put the one handle in through and then you just want to tighten it slightly till.. you don't to get it too tight or else it's going to actually shut off some of the inter-abdominal pressure. You just want it tight enough so your abs can push out against the belt. One you have it about right there, you just want to put the prongs in, just kind of put your fingers in. You should be able to push your fingers against the belt, slide it in and there you go. This was how to put on an abdominal support brace. Thanks for watching.
