Bring the bourbon do the dessert table in an entirely different form – baked right into your pecan pie. Adding the kick of bourbon to the semi-sweet chocolate and buttery pecans makes this pie especially sweet and sinful.

Hi, I'm Heather Bertinetti for eHow.com. Today, I want to share with you a recipe for bourbon chocolate pecan pie. In this case I have some pecans, sugar, butter, eggs, some chocolate chips just for fun and some bourbon which who doesn't love bourbon in pie, so let's get started. So first I'm going to take my sugar and add it to a bowl. Make sure you have a large mixing bowl because this is going to make quite a bit of filling. Next we're going to add our corn syrup to the sugar, just using a rubber spatula, scrape that in there. Keep the spatula in the bowl. Next we have melted butter. I use unsalted butter because we're going to add a pinch of salt anyway, my bourbon, so we have all of our liquid ingredients in and then my eggs that I've slightly beaten, just break them up. Stick that in. I'm going to use a whisk just to make sure it gets all evenly incorporated. Just make sure everything gets dissolved. Now the thing with pecan pies is that you don't just have to use pecans. You can also use walnuts, you can use almonds, you can pretty much put whatever fun stuff you want in there. Just like right now we're going to stick in our chocolate chips. These are semi sweet chocolate chips. Milk chocolate works fine as well and then our pecans. The pecans I'm using is a half mixture of pecan pieces as well as pecans that are whole, unsalted. You can find them in the baking aisle at any store. I'm just going to mix this up. Pecan pie is a very liquidy mixture. Obviously it uses no flour so it's going to be thin and that's exactly what we want, don't get scared guys. Alright, bang that out. Now using our spatula I have a nine inch pie that I made. You can refer back to my pie crust if you'd like and we're just going to pour it all in. Make sure to get all that good stuff in there. Just make sure everything gets poured into the shell. Now if you hate cleaning ovens as much as I do, my quick tip for you is to grab a pan, a cookie sheet or a sheet pan will do and place the pie on top of there. I'd rather it be on the sheet pan than on the bottom of the oven. So let's pop this in for about 35 to 40 minutes at 375 degrees. Well this looks beautiful guys. Our pie is finally finished and it's out of the oven so this looks perfect. The chocolate is all melted. We've got a nice sugary crust on top. It's crunchy and warm, let's take a bite. Oh my gosh. I'm Heather Bertinetti. Catch me again on eHow.com.
