Hey, I'm Louisa Shafia, here on eHow.com. And today I'm showing you how to make your own diced bread cubes. Now this is for if you want to make your own stuffing from scratch. And there could be lots of reasons you'd want to do that. One, if you want to use a whole grain bread instead of a white bread, which is usually what you'll find in the supermarket if you're looking for bread cubes. And you can also control the size of the cubes. If you want your dressing to look a little bit more rustic looking an little bit more homemade looking, you can make bigger bread cubes, which I think can look really cool. And the method that I'm going to use is exactly the same way that you would make your own homemade salad cro?tons. So, I'm just dicing up my bread, and I'm going to dice it pretty big. These look, that was super easy to do. And I can stack up my bread slices, I can do this really quickly, really easy. At this stage you could add spices to the bread cubes, you could add sage, thyme, anything that you're going to actually use in your finished stuffing. But I'm just going to use a little bit of salt. That's all I really need. This looks great. So, I'm just going to spread these out in the pan, I have my oven preheated at 350. And I'm just going to drizzle a little bit of olive oil, just enough so that these kind of toast and they don't burn. I'm going to put a little bit of salt. And the reason I'm salting at this stage, is it's going to give my bread cubes flavor. It's really layering the flavor so that when my stuffing is finished, every little element of it has a lot of flavor. So, these are going to go in the oven for fifteen to twenty minutes until they're nice and crisp and dry. So, that's all you need to do to make your own homemade bread crumbs. Just let them toast in the oven until they're nice and dry, let them cool and then make them in to stuffing. I'm Louisa Shafia. I'll see you next time here on eHow.com.
