Hi, I'm Kelli Ellis of Kelli Ellis Interiors at Ambiance Home Collections, talking about how to arrange family room furniture. So when you're arranging your family room furniture, there are a lot of things to consider, but the main things to consider is your space. How much space you have. How large of a family room do you have? How many people do you need to accommodate? How many people actually sit in the room at any one time? So those are the two most important things. So we're talking about function, and we're talking about space. It's great to do a plan before you go shopping. Now here's a great example, we've got a beautiful sofa here, it would seat two comfortably, three if you're going to push it. So knowing that you at least have three people and a place for them to sit is fantastic. When you're creating vignette's, or conversation pieces, then you always want to have some kind of opposing furniture. So if we have chairs, smaller chairs, accent chairs, that face the sofa, now we're creating a cozy feel, that's what kind of gives it that family room feel. But always remember that we have focal points as well. Family rooms usually involve television sets. Family rooms usually involve fireplaces. So we need to be mindful that we're creating conversation spaces, and places, and vignettes, but we're also being mindful of television sets. In a grouping like this, I would have a TV set probably over the piece that's behind me here. So this is a gorgeous side piece, it's connecting the two seating groups, and this would be a perfect place for a television set. If it's a more formal setting, then we're talking about just having a picture and just conversation. But if it's a family room, remember we want to make sure that we can function as a family in that room. Once again, I'm Kelli Ellis on how to arrange family room furniture.
