Hi, I'm Kelli Ellis for Kelli Ellis Interiors at Ambiance Home Collection, and this is how to get ideas for your home makeover. When you're gathering ideas for your home makeover, it's really important to take this big first step and to take your time. Really look through, and search, and arm yourself with an arsenal of ideas that you love, and anyone else that lives in the home. It's really important to, everybody sit down and decide on the feel of the room. That's really important. So you've got function, you've got flow, and you've got feel when you're designing a room and a space and a home makeover. So you really want to consider what feel are we going for? What's the feeling that we want in the room? And then the way to do that, and most people don't know what style they like. They don't know if they're contemporary, they don't know if they're traditional, they don't know if they like modern or minimal, so just start collecting pictures. Start flipping through magazines. Start pulling out pictures off the Internet. Start printing things from the Internet. Go to the store, flip through their catalogs and have a look, but start gathering all this information. And it doesn't matter if you like it, you don't know why you like it, you're going to start honing in on the style that actually speaks to you. It's going to start presenting itself so to speak, and you're going to know "This is a style that I really love", cause you'll see it over and over again in your collection. So that arsenal's a really important first step. When I meet with my clients and they say, "I don't know what style I am. I don't know what I want. I don't know what I like," their homework, given by me, is for them to go through magazines, get online, start going through catalogs, and pulling together looks, and then you'll start to see a theme emerge, and that is the beginning of your home makeover. Once again, this is Kelli Ellis on how to get ideas for your home makeover, and if you have any questions, go to
