Hi, this is Willie McNeely from Strong Gym. And today, I'm going to show you how to loosen stiff heels. The reason most people will get stiff heels, is due to the way human beings are now, and that we wear shoes everywhere we go. And we're always walking with something just to support our feet muscles. Over time, your feet muscles will atrophy and get tight, stiff and cause a lot of problems. You're not actually using all your, the muscles in your feet anymore. To just help you walk and doing the normal activities of everyday life. So, the best way to loosen the heels is, usually different aspects of what's known as Self Myofascial Release. Or, in a different way, it it called massage. The first exercise I'll show you is, just doing Self Myofascial Release with a lacrosse ball. You can also use golfs balls, or any you know, type of hard, dense, sort of bouncy ball or something like that. You know, it just depends on the size of your heel, I guess. First thing I'm going to do, is just place the ball on the ground. And then, I'm going to try to put as much body weight as I can. Trying to get any tender, sort of tough spots on my heels, you know. You could do circular motions, or you could just kind of stand on it just for a second. It also won't be a bad idea to go ahead and get all the aspects of your foot right here. Just because this will help awaken a lot of the nerves and everything in your feet. Since all your nerves end up either in your hands, or your feet, you know. And this is a good, healthy way to, for stimulation. The next exercise I'll show you, is just more of self massage on your actual foot, you know, primarily the heel. Just because with a self massage, you're to be able to get a little more deeper into the movement. And actually be more specific with what you're trying to do. The first thing I'll do, is usually just cup the heel, and just do some light squeezes, or light pulses. You could do this with one hand, or both hands, if you'd like. Right here, I'm just performing more like you know, the light squeezes, and like I'm working you know, just kneading your heels a little bit. And this is just going to loose up the fascia, and the muscles you know, if there is a lot of tension there. Thanks for watching.
