Hi, I'm Shane with Glover Nursery here in West Jordan, Utah. Today, we are going to talk about removing a lily pad from your pond. Throughout the season you'll get damaged and yellowing leaves on your water lily so you're going to want to remove those just to keep the plant vigorous and just to maintain the looks of the plant. So to do this, it's really simple. You don't need any tools or anything. You can just do everything with your fingers. So, if you find a pad that you want to remove, just follow the stem all the way down to the crown of the plant. It doesn't matter too much. If you can't really get to it, if your pond is deep and you don't want to climb in there, you can just yank it off like this but the more organic matter you get out of the pond, the less it's going to end up decomposing in the pond so if you can just find the bottom of the stem and pull the whole thing out, that would be best. So don't be shy about removing your leaves. You're not going to hurt the plant. They're pretty forgiving. Again, I'm Shane with Glover Nursery in West Jordan, Utah. Today we have talked about removing a water lily pad from your pond.
