Hi, I'm Evette Rios here on eHow.com, and I wanted to share with you guys some of my tips when I'm throwing a party that's buffet-style. You know, so that I can make my life more stress free, and so that I get everybody mingling. So, the first thing that I like to do is I like to separate the food area from the drinks. I find that this makes people, you know, sort of mill around a little bit more, and it makes my life a lot easier because I set everything out, and let everybody find their own stuff. I set out glasses, wines, liquor so people can mix their own drinks. The idea is, you don't want to be chained to doing this stuff, because you really want to entertain, and be there with your guests. And, your guests are there to be with you, so why not spend more time with them? And then, as far as food goes, what I like to do is I like to sort of do it in kind of an assembly line. I start out with my plates. You can put out your entree-size plates and appetizer-size plates in one area. I roll up my silverware, because I love this. People can just grab and go, they get the napkin and all the silverware they need in one. And then, I have a section just for finger food, so people can come back here, fill up their plates, and go back to their seats. And finally, you want to put the entree at the end of the buffet line with any condiments that you need, any cheeses or salt and pepper. That way, people can just fix it exactly the way they like it. And, I love this, because that way you have two different areas. You've got the drinks in one section, and the food in the other, so nobody is in each other's way. Thanks for watching. I hope these buffet tips help you at your next shindig. I'm Evette Rios, and check me out again on eHow.com.
