on 11/22/2005 Blue tick heelers are a great farm breed but can also be a great pet. I have a blue heeler that I named Snoopy. She is a sweet dog and just loves attention. If you are considering a blue tick heeler, I think you have made a great choice. My dog loves children and craves attention. But if you are not careful, they may dig under your fences if you have a chainlink. Other than that, I think they are a perfect breed for people with a farm. But they are still a great breed if you are willing to care for it properly, train it, give it enough exercise, food, shelter and a bunch of TLC (tender love and care).
on 11/22/2005 Heelers are very smart dogs and easy to train. Once you get them used to learning, they will very easily learn almost anything you can teach them. They are very aggressive dogs, so watch out for the mailman or any strangers that come near the dog's home.
