Return to article: How to Build a Snowman
on 2/7/2006 I use three bottomless boxes. Fill the bigger base box, which should be around 3x3x3, with packed snow. Get a child to stomp around on it, being careful not to burst the box. Then put the slightly small box on top of that and pack more snow in. Finally, place the smaller box on top. Let that sit for a few hours, then slide them up and off. Spray the box-person with a bit of water and let it sit overnight. Then carve out round sides with a stick or ice scraper. This way makes a very smooth and symmetrical snow-person.
on 11/22/2005 Fill a juice pitcher with cold water and pour a little down the center and around the outside of your snowman every now and then. This gives him instant strength and stick as you build.
