on 7/16/2007 If you are a singer, and if you use a numbing throat spray, do NOT make the mistake of thinking you are better - you must NOT sing, even if it doesn't seem to hurt. Once the anaesthetic wears off, it will hurt a LOT and you may find you have done permanent damage to your voice.
on 1/22/2007 I've found that drinking Chamomille tea works wonders. Previous suggestions of gargling with mouthwash and drinking ice cold liquids are also helpful. And if you're big on cough drops, there is a brand that has a "Honey Herb" variety and those are the best.
on 11/30/2006 Water, lots of it - Drink as much water as possible, eat oranges, take vitamin C, eat as regular as possible, and drink hot peppermint tea or green tea. All of these things are effective for getting rid of a cold and sore throat relief
on 9/6/2006 At the very first sign of an oncoming sore throat, floss well, then rinse with warm salt water. Floss 3 times a day thereafter, take a vitamin C tab 6 times a day and drink lots of water.
on 9/3/2006 Drink as much water as possible, eat oranges, take vitamin C, eat as regular as possible, and drink hot peppermint tea or green tea. All of these things are effective for getting rid of a cold and sore throat relief.
on 8/8/2006 Dissolve 1-2 teaspoon of salt per glass of warm water and gargle with this 3 or 4 times a day. This helps postpone the onset of a sore throat, and offers some pain relief as long as the sore throat lasts. Some like to rinse their nasal passages with salt water - by snorting or pouring the mixture into their nose, and coughing or draining it out their mouth. If you do this, I recommend adding a bit of baking soda to avoid any stinging. This helps alleviate stuffiness and post-nasal drip. Then, take some ibuprofen and sit in a hot bath.
on 8/8/2006 I get strep throat (really bad) about 3 times a year. Looking for a way to ease the pain on my throat, I looked on the Internet for about a hour before I found a remedy that worked. It's easy and it tastes good. jJust swallow 2-5 teaspoons of warm honey every 1-2 hours, or when the effect wears off. It doesn't completely take away the pain, but when I get strep throat, the pain is a 10 out of 10. When I do this, it takes it down to at least a 5.
on 8/8/2006 Bring the following ingredients to a boil then allow to steep over low heat for 30-45 minutes:The juice of 2 or 3 lemons, a 2 inch section of fresh ginger- peeled and cut into 1/4 inch slices, 1/3 cup of honey, and two cups of water. The mixture gets stronger with time, so it can be diluted as you use it. I like to store extra in a jar in the fridge and heat up just what I need.Sip on a 1/2 cup of this mixture every couple hours to relieve throat pain and get a good dose of vitamin C. The ginger has a nice warming effect and citric acid seems to rinse away irritants. Especially nice after waking up.
on 8/6/2006 1 tablespoon dry ginger strained with hot water1 tablespoon honeyfresh lemon Make a hot tea and drink
on 7/31/2006 Mix calendula extract with water and gargle. It tastes terrible, but it works. For a 3-in-1 gargle, mix calendula with warm (not hot) water, salt, and hydrogen peroxide. If the taste is unbearable to you, just mix salt with warm water and gargle with that.
on 7/31/2006 Colloidal Silver throat spray kills virus, fungus, and bacterium on contact without damaging the enzymes in the throat.
on 7/31/2006 Sore throats are usually caused by bacteria. Drink echinacea and goldenseal to fight the bacteria/infection. Green tea will help with overproduction of mucus. As an added bonus, take garlic as a supplement until the sore throat goes away. It is another natural antibiotic.
on 7/31/2006 Drink Throat Coat tea and suck on Throat Coat lozenges. They work!
on 7/31/2006 Fill a glass with water and heat it, but make sure it is only warm (if it's too hot, it will kill the enzymes in the apple cider vinegar). Mix 1 or 2 tablespoons of Bragg's apple cider vinegar with the amount of pure organic honey that is to your liking. If the honey is processed, there will be no enzymes. Have this drink with a meal. Do not have this drink on an empty stomach, it will give you a stomach ache. f you have a sensitive stomach, try only 1 tablespoon of the apple cider vinegar.
on 7/7/2006 When a sore throat rolls around, try heating Dr. Pepper on the stove until it is steaming, allow about 3 minutes to cool, squeeze in the juice from a lemon, and enjoy!
